Congratulations to Herrenknecht’s Tunnel Boring Machine passes factory acceptance Test for Guangzhou Metro Line 5

On June 5th, the second earth pressure balance shield machine used in the longest section of the east extension line of Guangzhou Metro Line 5 [Shuanggang ~ Miaotou Road] passed customer’s acceptance test in Herrenknecht (Guangzhou) FTZ Factory.

The project jobsite is located very close to Herrenknech’s Guangzhou Free Trade Zone factory. In addition to the convenience of equipment delivery, Herrenknecht’s after-sales technicians can seamlessly provide on-site services during the tunneling process. The first shield machine used in this section also passed the factory acceptance in May.

Cooperation

It is our great honor to participate in these S1234 and S1235 projects. Each shield machine is equipped with two units of Adekom 55kW TBM application air compressor and refrigerated air dryers to ensure round the clock stable operation is continuously supported by high-quality source of compressed air.

In the process of tunnel boring, the air compressor works in harsh working environment such as high temperature, high humidity, high dust, small space, large vibration, etc… In order to ensure the stable operation of the compressed air system, Adekom and Herrenknecht have established a good cooperative relationship during the past 15 years, and continuously improved and optimized the equipment according to the jobsite conditions, making the air compressor smaller, more compact, and more convenient for operation and maintenance, this contributes to the sustainable development of the underground infrastructure industry in local and export market!
